This donation is a tremendous benefit to many of our athletes. Getting proper footwear for my athletes has been a consistent problem.

I just wanted to thank you for a grand Labor Day 15K that was exceptional in every way, especially for an inaugural running. Great organization and execution, nice little expo, very nice long sleeve tech shirt, and a post race spread that was top notch from veggie wraps to fresh salad with plenty of red peppers to cornbread and quality Irish ale.

September 3rd, 2007, Buffalo hosted the first annual “Run Into Buffalo” Fleet Feet 15K road race. The inaugural running of the 15K drew over 600 runners. The weather was fantastic and the course was very well received. We are already working on some improvements for the 2008 edition of the race. It will be run once again on Labor Day, September 1st, 2008.

As a direct result of the Run Into Buffalo, on October 3rd 2007 we donated 311 pairs of Brooks training shoes to the young athletes in the City of Buffalo Public Schools Cross Country program. Without the help of all of our sponsors and the support of the WNY running community this donation would not have been possible. On October 2nd 2007, 4 members of the race committee attended one of the City Schools Cross Country meets. Seeing the types of footwear that many of the athletes were running in really enforced how significant this donation is. We are extremely proud of our initial efforts, we expect to see the race grow every year and as it does we will expand our donation to schools located throughout the WNY area.

Thanks to General Mills and Kaleida Health, Super User Technology and Wegmans for their support of our efforts and thank to each and every runner who entered our race. Looking forward to seeing all of you on Labor Day 2008.
